Midland Wine & Spirit Association

Established in 1905 the MWSA is a regional wine & spirit association, connecting the UK drinks trade by building a network of professionals in the Midlands

The MWSA

Established in 1905, when a group of midlands-based independent wine & spirit merchants got together to discuss issues relating to the drinks trade, the MWSA is a regional wine & spirit association, connecting the UK drinks trade by building a network of professionals in the Midlands. Today our members include regional businesses in the on & off trade, local branches of national companies, sommeliers, hospitality employees, wholesalers, importers, and local English winemakers & spirits producers.

Our mission is to build a midlands-based professional wine & spirits community, by connecting the local UK drinks trade & MWSA members together. We strive to keep our members up to date with current industry news, whilst providing them with business networking opportunities via local events & trade talks, as well as education opportunities via local tours & tastings with industry-leading experts.

We have close links with many Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, and all of the major drinks trade bodies: the Wine and Spirit Trade Association WSTA, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust WSET, Women In Wine WIW national organisations, and many other regional trade associations, all of whom our members can contact for free advice & information. We also fundraise for The Drinks Trust our chosen trade charity.
